To read the books on display may be unthinkable for many, I may well be agreed that skjønnlittere books perhaps best suited to paper. But the learning material, books and other may well be digital for me. And I guess that there are several that could be imagined to have all the textbooks in your pocket. Yesterday I loaded the Smart Course to one of my most important tools, namely the iPhone. The video showing the Smart Course for iPad (preliminary concept) is reasonably interesting. I hope and believe that this model may be relevant for the school and perhaps for publishers and. At Course Smart rents a books per semester, maybe one can buy some permanent og.Ein can take notes and save them along with the books. After the semester has a no access to books, but one has access to notata one has taken. And perhaps they are most important? This model may be relevant for Norwegian publishers and? But, then, in Norway we have NDLA available, what can they do come? I wish to have with my books and textbooks in your pocket. Pupils may be, and imagine that, a drop to lost books, forget books and one can read books on the bus, tram or elsewhere. Convenient for multiple parties in other words.

How to get a read on a NDLA widgets such as kindle, iPhone, Nook or the other?

1. You need pdf versions of the content of NDLA, preliminary one can find pdf files of each page. Maybe chapters / books / theme for the final quarter?

2. You need software to change the format of pdf files to the format to read your widget support. A free and adequate program is Calibre .

What I have done to be part of NDLA on my reading gadget (iPhone) is to download pdf versions of a chapter, in this case Norwegian - communication, to a folder. Then open the Calibre (made sure to start the server settings) and added a folder like a book (several pdf files into a book), converted to e-book. Connect the iPhone and started Stanza. Click on "Get books" and so I could browse all the books on your PC and load them I would have on the iPhone. And now I can read the communication right where I want and when it suits me. And to simplify the process I hope that NDLA eventually put out chapters / topics / subjects that the final pdf files. Or that one can select several pages of a chapter and save it as a pdf file. There they can probably do, but they may have to fight a little against the nynorsk-people (not me), publishing and some other first.

  3. It will be interesting to see how the development is when publishers and content producers discover the potential of the iPad and similar devices in the coming years. Books will live for several years, but in 10 years, most of the screen. Here, for example NDLA a unique opportunity to be the pioneer and front, and I hope they grab the chance!

PDF is perhaps not an ideal format. I know several uses eg scrapbook add to Firefox to save a copy of the current acting NDLA their websites to your hard disk. But locker corresponding Wikipedia had been brilliant for both teachers and pupils (and perhaps less work for NDLA?). Maybe the exe-learning (Mozilla / Firefox) may be a useful tool to create packages? The crest at least export to IMS / LMS etc. I'm not sure what is "right" solution, but think it's good if they try you out a bit. And there are certainly plenty of people who want to test.
